Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
No, my practice does not accept insurance. This allows me to take longer appointments for my patients to meet their individual needs. I am happy to provide you with a Super Bill to verify your payment for services , which can be presented to your insurance company to collect any reimbursement they will cover for your out of network benefits. I can even help you electronically submit your Super Bill to your insurance through Reimbursify.com, a service that I have added, to help make this process faster and easier for you with no additional cost. What if I don’t want take medications?
Many people choose not to take medications and still improve their mental health with active use and commitment to identifying their symptoms, using a combination of methods to regulate their moods, increase their distress tolerance and improve relationships. For many, this is possible with use of psychotherapy, mindfulness, lifestyle changes, behavioral modification and distress tolerance skills, to name only a few. There are some that cannot find the chemical and physiological balance through these methods alone and they need to combine the use of medications in their life, to reduce risks of safety. Some people for which medication may be continued long term are those managing bipolar and schizophrenia disorders. In such cases, the lowest dose of medication that is effective is the goal while still combining other forms of therapies to empower them to have better insight into their disorder, to recognize how they can reduce episodes and how to monitor for changes.
